5 INSTAGRAM-WORTHY OOTD SPOTS AT JOO CHIAT, SINGAPORE
Yes, as the name suggests, we will be sharing something value-added today to all our readers! Our team dropped by Joo Chiat a while back, and have taken note of 5 whimsical OOTD spots at this well-preserved heritage location - we are sure it will be worth it reading this post to the end ;)
If you visit Visit Singapore's website, you will find a whole lot of information about the Joo Chiat/Katong area - about how it is home to the Peranakans, about all the heritage shophouses, and so on. What truly catches our eyes is the exquisite design of the homes in this area. And hence, we set out to find OOTD spots for this post. To be honest, there are possibly more than 5 amazing spots for your OOTD here. Yet, we have selected 5 of our favourite spots - hopefully they will serve to be useful for your OOTD shots!
We found our first spot here at Joo Chiat Place. It is a long road, so we had a good walk along this road. Happily, and easily, we found 5 OOTD spots :)

1) ALL WHITE BACKGROUND: PLAIN & SIMPLE
An all white background is absolutely a minimalist's dream come true! Clean and plain, yet effortlessly chic, this simple location is perfect for any type of outfits. Be it a minimalist, maximalist, floral, or office outfit, this background easily complements, and makes the outfit extremely tasteful.
For this background, we think a summery dress like Acacia Buttoned Dress in Khaki is really suitable, and the pinstripes design of the khaki dress stands out in the clean and white background. Add a summer straw bag to the outfit and voila~!

2) COLOURBLOCKING BACKGROUND
Colours are conveniently a stone's throw away everywhere in this area! We chanced upon this super quaint and pretty girly lilac background, with red and white detailing in the design and architecture that speaks of the colour-blocking style that we so love. There is even a pop of yellow colour in the charming little letterbox just outside the house!
Davina Fit n Flare Dress in Gingham is the dress we have selected for this lilac background. We love how the colour-block design of this dress and the contrast between the white and gingham blocks. A simple and elegant midi dress, Davina fits the entire background easily.

3) RESORT LOVIN'
Rejoice, resort vacation lovers! This OOTD spot completely resembles that of a holiday vacation near the beach. Can you believe that there is this picturesque location just here in the east of Singapore? Well...we can't until we saw it for ourselves! The slate grey background and the clean white windows and doors complement each other perfectly. Not forgetting to mention the wooden furniture perfect for the beach just right beside the door!
We have selected the Kyla Wrapped Floral Maxi because we love how the pop of mustard colour brightens up the atmosphere. Also, the white floral prints on the dress adds to the resort vibes of the place.
Geneva Abstract Shift Dress features abstract prints of earth tones and sky hues. This straight-cut dress looks as genteel as it should be, and is perfect with summer sandals completing the look!
4) VESPA VIBING
Woohoo! We are ever so drawn to this spot because of the attractive Vespa just lying outside unassumingly. Let's also give credits to the human-sized leafy plants guarding the door. They simply add so much attitude to this spot!
An off shoulder top seems to match this background utterly, and we are loving Eliza Smocked Top in Caroline Blue coupled with a pair of white shorts and summer rattan bag! Maia Babydoll Sleeved Dress (upcoming) is another femininely chic dress that we shot there because we just find that this Vespa makes everything look better! ;)
And the third dress we shot at this spot is one of our best-sellers, Davina Fit n Flare Dress in Wine Polka. We adore the pop of red in this OOTD image. Can't help making full use of the Vespa here - oops! ^^
5) GOING VINTAGE
V I N T A G E F E E L S.
Adding a touch of vintage in our OOTD spots. The final location consists of a salmon pink background with blue detailing, and washed out painted walls. This is a must-shoot spot if you are looking at vintage outfits!
To suit the pink background, we have selected Acacia Buttoned Dress in Navy to create a contrasting OOTD image. If you are going for those extremely vintage-y photos, you may even add a layer of dust filter over your image! ;)
